IMM 2024

Let´s go outside with NANA OUTDOOR

The success story of the Nana chair, launched in 2021, is impressive. The unmistakable design has effortlessly made its way into numerous living rooms, restaurants and hotels around the world, winning over countless hearts at the same time.

Following various additions to the collection in recent years, weatherproof versions of the chairs and armchairs are now available for the new outdoor season. "Sitting like on clouds" - this is the credo according to which designer Hanne Willmann developed the Nana collection for Freifrau, which today consists of chairs, armchairs, poufs and a sofa. Now you can also sit "under the clouds" on part of the collection. The two chair variants (with and without armrests) and the two armchairs
armrests) and the two armchairs Love Seat and Love Seat Petite with matching poufs.

The covers are available in the weatherproof fabric Lopi (Sunbrella) in a wide range of colours. The thick weave creates a knitted effect that retains the cosy feel of the Nana design. The frames of the outdoor chairs are powder-coated and available in deep black, traffic white, grey white or slate grey. From the "Double Brand Colours Outdoor" developed with Freifrau's partner brand Janua, a steel bronze glaze complements the range of frame options.

LEYASOL: Sun Lounger and Hollywood swing

Just in time for imm cologne 2024, Freifrau is presenting three new additions to the Leyasol collection: a Hollywood swing and a sun lounger - available as either a lounger or a swing. The new models, created by the design duo Hoffmann Kahleyss Design, focus on relaxation and cosiness outdoors.

The Leyasol récamiere with the name Sun Lounger invites you to enjoy undisturbed moments of peace and quiet. As a lounger, the Sun Lounger offers irresistible seating comfort, while the swing seat version adds an extra dose of lightness. High-quality materials, be it soft leather or soft fabrics, make these unique designs timeless favourites that are perfect for switching off on.

With the introduction of the Leyasol Hollywood swing, Freifrau is making another statement for stylish outdoor living. The characteristic steel wire frame, available in a range of finishes from bronze and brass to all RAL Classic colours, lends the officially named Lounge Couch Swing Seat a delicate elegance. Up to three people can sit on it to enjoy hours together in the open air - whether it's having stimulating conversations or simply watching the clouds.

MIA - The modular sofa

The variable comfort miracle: with Mia, Ilja Huber has designed the first modular sofa for Freifrau.

With Mia, German designer Ilja Huber has developed a sofa system that embodies the perfect fusion of soft seating comfort and classic design. The versatile appearance of the sofa is characterised by flexibly positionable backrests and armrests, which are reminiscent of large cushions that cushion the sitter. Mia is also characterised by its modular concept, which allows the sofa to be adapted in size and shape to suit individual wishes and environments.

The eleven different modules available offer a wide range of possible combinations: from classic two- or three-seater sofas to spacious seating landscapes with facing seating elements or cosy islands. The combined sofas are complemented by free-standing armchairs and optional cushions. Mia blends harmoniously into any environment, whether in the living room at home, an elegant lobby or a stylish lounge area.

MARIE - the changeable one

A typical Freifrau product has many faces, including the new Marie chair launched in summer 2023.

Marie is now available in a design version without armrests. At the same time, a new wooden frame has been developed for both versions, giving the Fromensprache a very unique and particularly cosy touch. The Marie chair developed by Hoffmann Kahleyss not only embodies a welcome in its original version with armrests. The less expansive version without armrests is also characterised by openness and invites both relaxation and communicative exchange.

The newly introduced wooden frame, which is available for Marie with or without armrests, radiates warmth and cosiness. The curved backrest frame creates an exciting dialogue with the cross frame that holds the softly rounded legs together. The new frame is made of oak wood, which is refined with various finishes (natural oiled oak, white oiled oak, walnut stained, black lacquered).

LOW DINING: a fusion of dining and lounge

The current trend for low dining, previously seen mainly in the outdoor area, is now also finding its way into exclusive hotel lobbies and private living areas.

Freifrau is embracing this movement and presenting the chairs from the Nana and Marie collections with a lower seat height. As a pioneer in the industry, Freifrau has now also developed the chairs in the Nana collection by Hanne Willmann and the newly launched Marie family by Hoffmann Kahleyss Design with a slightly reduced seat height of 42 cm.
The low-dining chairs from Freifrau are therefore 5 cm lower than classic seating furniture, allowing flexible placement at low-dining tables and next to sofas. This successful combination creates a unique experience of eating and relaxing in one.

THEIA Bar, Counter & Kitchen Chair

Taking sitting to new dimensions.

With Theia, Sebastian Herkner has created a real gem, a jewel in the crown of seating. The idea behind Theia? That the frame and shell of the chair merge not only technically but also visually to form a whole.
With his latest work, the Theia Bar Armchair, Herkner applies this concept once again by extending it vertically and taking it to new heights - three different heights in fact: Theia Bar Armchair, seat height 82 cm; Theia Counter Armchair, seat height 72 cm, and Theia Kitchen Armchair, seat height 65 cm. All three versions are available with lower or full-surface armrests.
